With proceeds going to Orlando org S.W.A.N., this was a night of new young faces in Florida underground music making their positions on the state of the nation very clear.
Default Friends, Paperback Romance, Earf Day, Stiletto, Holly Pocket and Preying Mantease all took the stage Wednesday in front of an attentive and clued-in crowd in no mood for patriarchal shit. Did the elections last week add an extra edge of urgency to the evening? Of course. But instead of giving in to total despair, doom-scrolling and fighting with lost-cause relatives on Facebook, you need to be attending shows and events like these as much as you are able.
