The Richmond metal band allied with local roasters Concept Cafes and Coterie Coffee Co. — they of the Cannibal Corpse-themed coffee — to whip up a suitably barbaric blend dubbed Berserker Mode. This signature brew is available online as of this week, but for locals there will be a release event with GWAR front-“man” Blothar the Berserker holding court.
Blothar the Berserker comes to Park Ave CDs on Sunday, March 9, at 3 p.m. for a free meet-and-greet and signing to promote Berserker Mode. RSVP is strongly suggested. (GWAR regularly pack out the Beacham, after all.)
Blothar will be previewing GWAR’s new album and signing coffee bags and the aforementioned record. A Nitro Cold Brew version will also be available for purchase. On top of it all, the event is also a blood drive — appropriate, given that GWAR audiences are oft showered in it — with a Big Red Bus parked out front.
“The best part of getting blackout drunk is Berserker Mode Coffee. Each sip is infused with the bitter sorrow of unrequited love and that nagging feeling that something really weird happened last night,” sayeth Blothar. “Berserker Mode Coffee is a savage brew fit for shock rock royalty. I sure feel like the King on my throne after sucking down a pot.”
