I awoke today with a vague memory from a blurry show this weekend where a friend leaned over the bar to ask me – “Wait. So Mastodon is playing Central Florida Fairgrounds?” We got out our truth machines to Google the answer, and it seems, yes, WJRR is bringing the massive metal band to town for Kink Music Festival. Other bands on the bill include Gojira, Nonpoint, Crobots and a slew of locals. (Can I propose a group of metal bands be referred to from this point on as a “slaughter?”)
The festival is Saturday, Nov. 8 at Central Florida Fairgrounds and also includes a car and tattoo expo, as well as a pinup beauty pageant. Tickets are $20. Keep up with any festival news by following the fest on Twitter.
