It was indie music lovers’ delight Tuesday evening in downtown Orlando. Two separate (and very long) lines of fans queued up to see Lunar Vacation at the Social or Strfrkr next door at the Beacham. We chose the more intimate Social, for a dreamy evening of shoegazey indie-pop woven by young Nashville songstress Hannah Cole and headliners and rising stars Lunar Vacation.
On tour since February in support of sophomore album Everything Matters, Everything’s Fire and new single release “Lights Off,” this Orlando show was stop No. 35 on Lunar Vacation’s tour. The audience included singer Gep Repasky’s no-doubt-proud parents. The crowd was completely enamored from the first note of Lunar Vacation’s set, swaying gently and singing along.
In these days of constant gloom courtesy of the 24-hour news cycle, Lunar Vacation’s chill vibe was a perfect salve for the soul.
