Some musical nostalgia we can really get behind is a longing for the carefree club sound of ’80s freestyle: pumping, synthesized and incredibly poppy dance music mostly crafted by young Latin musicians — many based in South Florida — that took dancefloors and airwaves by storm with still-futuristic anthems like “Because I Love You,” “Head to Toe” and “Show Me.”
Performing Friday night are Stevie B, Lisa Lisa, TKA, The Cover Girls, Judy Torres, George Lamond, Lisette Melendez, 69 Boyz (outlier! But we’ll allow it) and J.J. Fad. Kick up your heels fully, if only for a night.
