If there were ever a time to “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” … it’s now. But “You’ve Seen the Butcher,” kept your “Headup” and pivoted around the “Digital Bath” — it must be Deftones playing a sold-out Kia Center.
Opening act the Mars Volta were on just the right side of thoroughly freaked out, and primed the packed arena for the main event. And Deftones certainly brought their time-tested, Michelin-starred cocktail of sonic heaven and hell. All eyes were on vocalist Chino Moreno with the red Nike kicks. Deftones still got it.
