Heavy music in general is very good right now. The metal of the Southeast, specifically, owns a big slice of that scene. Although we don’t get quite the due for it that our neighbor Georgia does, Florida is blasting out some of the most septic sounds around. As a living snapshot of today’s darkest horsemen of the Florida heavy, this well-curated, one-day mini-fest is a consolidated, super-enriched summoning of Sunshine State tonnage that features the impressive likes of stunning drone jet-engine Holly Hunt (Miami) along with Shroud Eater (Miami), Hollow Leg (Jacksonville/DeLand), Orbweaver (Miami), Hot Graves (Gainesville), Druid Lord (Orlando), Flying Snakes (St. Pete), Fire in the Cave (Orlando) and special Atlanta guest Demonaut. Need more guarantee, pussy? Well, then, cop the free Swamp Abyss Sorcery comp, where you can sample all the indigenous bands on the bill. Then, succumb. – Bao Le-Huu
