Elle — This prequel to the Legally Blonde franchise checks in with Elle Woods as a high-school student, before she had channeled her matchless moxie into becoming the courtroom dynamo we all know and love today. In other words, before there was absolutely anything distinctive or interesting about her as a character whatsoever. But hey, who needs to see Dracula surf, am I right? (Prime Video)
Enola Holmes 3 — The third film in the franchise takes Enola to Malta, where she’s investigating the disappearance of her brother, Sherlock. But given that he’s played by Henry Cavill, I don’t think anybody should be all that surprised his whereabouts are unknown at this point. (Netflix)
Worst Neighbor Ever — Building on the success of Worst Ex Ever and Worst Roommate Ever, Netflix expands our paranoia with true tales of the horrors that were inflicted upon ordinary Americans by the folks on the other side of the hedge. Wow, it’s like Nextdoor suddenly became self-aware or something. (Netflix)
X-Men ’97 — Season 2 of the nostalgic animated series finds our heroes scattered across space and time, in a storyline that’s said to be a direct homage to the second season of the ’90s ’toon that inspired this entire undertaking. On second thought, maybe AI isn’t strangling human creativity after all. (Disney+)

Streaming Thursday, July 2:
Human Vapor — Toho wrangles a series reboot out of its 1960 cult flick, in which a guy used his ability to transform into a free-floating gas as his secret weapon in pulling off a series of robberies. In this show, the title character is a serial killer instead of a mere thief — which has to be the most significant upgrade for a big ball of gas since Rush Limbaugh went into syndication. (Netflix)
Super Subbu — Netflix’s first-ever Telugu series tells the story of a sleepy village that’s set on its collective ear by the arrival of an unassuming sex-education teacher. Now just imagine how het up they’d be if they had landed one of the assuming ones. (Netflix)
Survival of the Thickest — Plus-size heroine Mavis (Michelle Buteau) completes her journey of self-actualization in her show’s third and final season, which features guest appearances by Wanda Sykes, D.L. Hughley and Ronny Chieng. And also Ice-T, who wandered in from a CarShield ad because he mistook Mavis for a Buick LeSabre. (Netflix)

Streaming Friday, July 3:
The Loyalty Game — A distrusting Filipina hires expert investigators to test her husband’s fidelity in a new series that’ll have you ladies thinking twice about your own relationships. I mean, in a just and equitable world, a girl could get some private dick without having to hire one. (Prime Video)
Silo — Fresh from her trip to the incinerator, Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette is dealing with memory loss in Season 3. And in between watching her struggle, we’ll find out more about how this misbegotten dystopian society came to be in the first place. I don’t have a line on any insider info, but I’m willing to bet it had something to do with Smokey Bones going under. (Apple TV)
Streaming Sunday, July 5:
Sparks of Tomorrow — An alternate-history version of the early 20th century is the setting for this anime series, in which some idealistic young dreamers try to break the stranglehold steam power has on their society and pave the way for the ascension of electricity. The worst part is that if they succeed, somebody has to redo the Carousel of Progress all over again. (Netflix)
Streaming Tuesday, July 7:
Better Late than Single — Here’s a second season of the Korean reality show in which perennial wallflowers get a belated introduction into the world of dating. Prepare to have your heartstrings tugged as they learn for the first time just how involved the whole thing is. Like, who knew hiring a Filipino P.I. could be so expensive? (Netflix)
