Streaming Wednesday, Sept. 2:

Lovesick — During the Mexican revolution of the 1910s, aspiring doctor Emilia Sauri (Renata Vaca) finds herself having to choose between two men who represent vastly different futures. One embodies the promise of personal and national independence, while the other thinks she can cure her eczema with a cocktail of canola oil and bull semen. (Netflix)

Turning Point: Generation 9/11 — A quarter-century later, take a hard and sobering look at the ways in which the trajectory of our American life was forever altered by the Sept. 11 attacks. But on the bright side, more people than ever now know that jet fuel can’t melt steel beams. (Netflix)

Streaming Thursday, Sept. 3:

Chad Powers — In Season 2, disgraced college quarterback Russ Holliday begins to perceive the true consequences of trying to pass himself off as another man entirely. Long story short, you have to give up your seat as the U.S. Representative for New York’s third Congressional district, but you get to keep any Hermès bags you stole. (Hulu)

Fito Páez: The World Within a Song — A documentary crew spent a year following the Argentine rock legend, coming away with a more-intimate-than-ever portrait of his life and work. And also a nice set of towels from the Hilton Buenos Aires. (Netflix)

Gandhari — Yet another story about a mother on the hunt for her missing daughter, this one set in the fictional Indian town of Joypurra. It’s so cute they feel the need to distinguish the fictional Indian towns from the real ones. The average American probably thinks Kolkata is something you can get a shot of in your Pike Place Roast if you ask nicely enough. (Netflix)

The Gentlemen — Season 2 finds criminal kingpin Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone) under the microscope for his increasingly questionable decisions. But come on, the guy’s a pot dealer. The closest they get to good choices is leaving some crumbs at the bottom of the Funyuns bag for later. (Netflix)

Streaming Friday, Sept. 4:

Earle Meets World — A reality show was the next logical step for New Jersey-bred influencer Alix Earle, who became a beacon to her fellow 20-somethings by showing them how to put on makeup on TikTok. The next next logical step? Auctioning off a kidney on Insta! (Netflix)

The Grand Tour Season 7 — Jeremy Clarkson infamously got booted from his own Top Gear knockoff for assaulting a crew member and using the n-word, leading co-stars Richard Hammond and James May to walk off the show in solidarity. Their replacements are James Engelsman and Thomas Holland of YouTube’s Throttle House, plus trainspotter-turned-influencer Francis Bourgeois. That trio has got some big shoes to fill, so hopefully they’re already practicing how to play grab-ass with interns and retweet Pepe memes. (Prime Video)

Parasomnia — The real-world phenomenon of night terrors is the impetus for a shocker in which a woman begins to fear that the force that’s been interrupting her sleep has also caused the disappearance of her best friend. And now I’m starting to wonder if my overactive bladder knows what happened to Savannah Guthrie’s mom. (Shudder and AMC+)

Streaming Saturday, Sept. 5:

The Kevin Langue Show and Kevin Langue 2 — The YouTuber extends his brand to Netflix with both new and old episodes of his popular guessing game, in which he proves his aptitude at spotting liars. “So glad someone is bringing back critical thinking!” commented viewer ImGivingAwayAKia365. (Netflix)

Streaming Monday, Sept. 7:

Colisión — A young Mexican woman battles her mother for control of the family business in what may be the last ethnic knockoff of Succession. That is, unless some Sri Lankans have a green-tea empire they want to fight over. (HBO Max) 

Streaming Tuesday, Sept. 8:

Dang! — Some of the folks behind The Good Place bring us the animated adventures of a trio of adult siblings, two of whom are your basic, everyday train wrecks and the third of whom is an insufferable overachiever. Listen, Ivanka, you’re just lucky we’re grading on a curve. (Netflix)

Stavros Halkias: Uncle Stav — The Greek comic returned to his hometown of Baltimore to tape his second Netflix special, in which he ponders the ramifications of becoming a “dirtbag” uncle. Just what the world needed: a combination of avuncular and Clavicular. (Netflix)

Untold: Mr. T:  I Pity the Fool — The ’80s icon recounts his inspiring rags-to-dookie-ropes story, demonstrating how hard work and determination can take you from a childhood in the projects to lecturing the next generation about drugs. Next on the list of famous killjoys: MC Hammer! (Netflix)
