In this, the sequel to 2005’s Are We There Yet, ex-gangster rapper turned actor/producer Ice Cube reprises his role as Nick Persons and the film picks up as newlyweds Nick and Suzanne (Nia Long) leave the big city behind, seeking a better life for their children out in the country. Advertised as a ‘fixer-upper,â?� the home Nick purchases for his family quickly becomes a disaster, as everything shy of the kitchen sink needs to be replaced. From here the film seems to sidestep plot and instead focuses the next hour on putting Cube in positions designed to implement as much clichéd physical humor as possible. And not much more. Starved for a laugh, the film drags on until finally the predictable life lesson is taught and the credits roll.
