Universal Orlando’s Today Cafe is opening May 16

Universal Orlando is grand opening its Today Cafe on May 16.

The restaurant themed to look like the iconic set of the hit NBC morning show will host an opening later this month with “Today” show stars, including Al Roker, according to a news release.

Aside from serving fresh pastries, salads, sandwiches and coffee, the Today Cafe is also offering “Al’s Avocado Toast,” one of the seasonal dishes inspired by Roker’s favorite recipes.

“Al’s Avocado Toast is topped with cherry tomatoes, artichokes, roasted red onions and tomato aioli, and is accompanied by bread and butter pickles,” Universal says in a statement. “Guests will be able to power through their day with this hearty and healthy dish and according to Al, the pickles add a nice sweetness and an umami taste.”

The cafe will also have the “TODAY Cafe blend,” a brand exclusively made for the restaurant.

The Today cafe is open right now on a limited, unscheduled basis, according to Universal, so you can check out some select menu items early.
