Zola Bar & Tables, billed as a “neighborhood bar and kitchen designed for locals,” will open this month in the old Santiago’s Bodega space at 1185 Springs Centre S. Blvd. in Altamonte Springs. Expect a backdrop playing up French writer Émile Zola and a menu playing up “Florida flavors” … Also in Altamonte, Sushi Yama will open a location in the space that previously housed Red Lobster at 340 W. State Road 436. No word yet on an opening date … 

Bruder Oviedo, a Latin restaurant and brewery, will open in the old Oviedo Brewing Co. space at the Oviedo Mall. This will be the independent Colombian brewery’s first foray into the U.S. market. Look for it to open later this month … Nic & Luc All-Day Eatery, with its menu of farm-to-table breakfast handhelds, tartines, sandwiches and bowls by chef Leroy Bautista, has opened in the old Daily News Deli & Grille space at 201 E. Pine St. overlooking Lake Eola. Specialty small-batch preserves as well as artisanal goodies are also available for sale …

Michigan St. in SoDo … Nearby, Banh Mi Go, a Vietnamese restaurant and cafe offering crispy bánh mì sandwiches, hearty rice platters, spring rolls, pho, bao and, of course, Vietnamese coffee, matcha, milk teas and smoothies, will open in the old Mii Cafe space at 225 E. Michigan St. … 

Holy City Zoo BBQ has opened at 190 S. Ronald Reagan Blvd. in Longwood, offering everything from brisket and pastrami to Texas sausage and sticky ribs. House-made Key lime pie and coconut cream pie are also offered … Look for Whataburger to open in the former Aussie Grill space in Waterford Lakes this September.
