Our local chapter of Slow Food is hosting a happy hour social/membership mixer 6-8pm tonight at the craft beer wonderland that is Redlight Redlight (745 Bennett Road). Stop by and find out more about Slow Food’s mission—”good, clean, fair food for all”—i.e., local food, sustainable growing and prep practices, preservation of heritage foodways (and other good things that are the opposite of fast food).

New membership chair Erica Abalos-Hernandez is co-owner (with her husband, Brent) of Redlight Redlight and founder of the Bee’s Knees Sweet Treats, so she knows a little something about local, handcrafted food. So stop by, meet the board, get to know the members, and maybe join Slow Food yourself, hmm? Maybe?
