Orlando has finally caffeinated itself to the top.
Wallethub has ranked the City Beautiful the No. 1 best city for coffee lovers in the country, beating out popular caffeine hotspots like Portland and Seattle.
The financial consultancy site says Orlando households spend an average of more than $154 on coffee every year. The city also has the highest number of shops with free Wi-Fi per capita, according to the study.
Orlando also ranks among the top cities for having the most affordable shops that are also rated at least 4.5 out of 5.
Plus, we also have the most doughnut shops per capita, Wallethub says.
Orlando’s followed closely by Portland, coming in at No. 2 and Miami at No. 3.
To determine the rankings, Wallethub compared the 100 most populated cities in the U.S. across 12 metrics. Those included average spending on coffee per household, share of adult coffee drinkers, amount of households that own their own coffee makers and more.
Maybe it’s our variety of specialty coffee shops, maybe it’s the abundance of Foxtail locations on every corner, or maybe it’s just the city’s yearning to stay awake despite the madness of Florida. Either way, we’re No. 1 — so grab a mug and celebrate.
