East Colonial Drive traffic just may be getting even more hellish.

Trader Joe’s has filed an application for a project at 3001 E. Colonial Drive, the former location of Burlington Coat Factory in Colonial Marketplace. This is the East Colonial plaza where Target, Chipotle, LA Fitness and more are all clustered around a labyrinth of a parking lot.

The application lists a project called “Trader Joe’s” for the building.

“Interior tenant fit out of an existing building into a Trader Joe’s store work includes, but is not limited to new partitions, fixtures millwork, flooring, ceiling, light fixtures, and mechanical, plumbing and electrical work,” the application reads.

The permit application does not note a construction or opening date for the building.

Trader Joe’s has not yet confirmed an East Colonial location. However, the grocer giant has confirmed new locations coming to Alafaya, Maitland and Kissimmee.
