Another day, another name change.
This one, however, doesn’t appear to have been initiated by a felonious man-child with small hands and a Sharpie.
After 25 years as the Grand Bohemian Hotel, the boutique auberge in the heart of downtown Orlando has been rebranded as Hotel Beauden, a name inspired by the city’s designation as “The City Beautiful.”
And as part of that rebrand, the hotel’s signature Euro-French restaurant, The Boheme, has been renamed Libra, while the Bosendorfer Lounge is now called Bar Libra. Together, the restaurant and lounge will celebrate Orlando’s diverse neighborhoods “through a culinary program shaped by Hispanic, Floridian and Asian influences.”

Under the direction of executive chef Francisco Sillero, Libra’s menu balances (get it?) “classic technique with seasonal ingredients and globally inspired flavors,” featuring such menu items as smoked crab rangoon dip with fried garlic gremolata and crispy wontons; smoked lechon with soy glaze, pickled carrots and toasted cashew; and drunken noodles with Gulf shrimp, charred cipollini, snap peas, fried garlic and Thai basil.
The hotel’s popular Sunday jazz brunch will continue at the Bosendorfer — um, at Bar Libra from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with unlimited mimosas, a cinnamon roll cart, carving station, omelet station, dessert wall and piano performances.
Speaking of, a Steinway grand piano will replace the vaunted Bösendorfer this fall, heralding Hotel Beauden’s new partnership with the Steinway Society of Central Florida, an organization committed to making music accessible to local children.
