The slurp will soon commence in the downtown core when Noodle Shawty, an early-morning-to-late-night concept by Brandon King and Galo Tenorio, opens later next month at 28 S. Orange Ave. in the space vacated by the Dapper Duck Bar last year.
As day breaks, the restaurant will host a premium matcha bar serving high-quality ceremonial matcha with seasonal flavors, as well as coffee and fresh ube donuts starting at 7 a.m.
King and Tenorio say they’ll implement more breakfast items and tweak the hours to cater to the morning crowd as the restaurant settles in.
For lunch and dinner, the restaurant goes fast-casual with a menu of noodle dishes, stir-frys, wings and hibachi bowls offering “bold flavors.” Guests can expect Mongolian beef chow fun, orange chicken chow mein, beef hokkien noodles and wings in garlic, honey-garlic and pepper flavors.

But perhaps of greatest interest to downtowners, Noodle Shawty will cater their operations to late-night revelers and famished insomniacs well into the wee hours.
“Our kitchen will be open until 4 a.m. Thursday through Sunday,” King and Tenorio promise, and there’s even talk about the possibility of going 24 hours. And, yes, they’ll be open seven days a week — “eight if we could,” jokes King.
I’m guessing these two are a couple of sleep-deprived nighthawks themselves. If they’re not, they soon will be.
Look for Noodle Shawty to party like it’s their birthday when it opens May 15.
