Easy Luck is moving out of its Milk District location after nearly a decade in the space — but it’s not going away for good.

The coffee shop and bodega known for its deep-rooted community connections announced Monday it will relocate in August. The team is currently on the lookout for a new location.

Easy Luck opened at 2425 E. South St. back in 2018. It opened in a shared space alongside Whippoorwill beer house, which was later replaced with BookBurn Cafe, a queer bookstore and social space, in January.

“While a transition is something we weren’t anticipating this soon, we want to approach this next chapter with gratitude, respect, and optimism,” Easy Luck wrote in a social media post announcing the move.

“We are still actively searching for a new location and we do anticipate a period of service interruption while we continue to work toward finding the right long-term space. We are working urgently and vigorously and will provide updates as we make progress. Wherever we land, we hope you’ll follow us in the next chapter as warmly as you have in this one.”

In addition to its everyday caffeinated options, Easy Luck also serves specialty seasonal drinks and a menu of vegan and vegetarian sandwiches and small plates. The space has also been known to host a variety of community events over the years.

The closing announcement’s comments are filled with community members reminiscing on time spent in Easy Luck and offering words of support for its future.

It is not yet known what, if anything, may replace the coffee shop and bodega.
