On opening day Wednesday, March 14, at 54 W. Church St., the new California Tortilla location be giving out free burritos (or burrito bowls) and a drink to all guests. Plus, you’ll have the chance to win free burritos for a year. Ten lucky guests who sign up for their Burrito Elite program or eClub will be entered to win this steady year-long diet of free burritos.
A recent New York Times piece claimed that tacos have “hijacked” Orlando’s culinary scene, and they might be right. California Tortilla will jump into downtown Orlando’s extremely savage taco war that already involves fierce contenders like Chela Tacos and Tequila, Pepe’s Cantina, Gringos Locos, and Tin and Taco. Plus, a Fuzzy’s Taco shop is expected to be coming soon near Orange County Brewers on Orange Avenue.
California Tortilla, which offers dishes like made-to-order burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas and salads, also has locations in Kissimmee and Melbourne.
