We first told you about “Project X” — the new restaurant planned by Kappo founders Lordfer Lalicon, Mark Berdin and Jennifer Banagale — back in January; then in June we told you the restaurant would house two different concepts and be situated in Audubon Park.
Now we can tell you that the
restaurant will be housed in the former Winter Park Beer Company space and will be up and running by November, with build-out starting in a week or so.The restaurant, to be called “Kadence,” will seat just 20 people in two distinct areas: one devoted to sushi omakase and another aimed at Kappo-style omakase dinners.
Plans are to serve sushi omakase first, followed by Kappo-style omakase dinners, with neither offering traditional a la carte menus.
“There are too many choices in life,” Berdin says about the omakase concepts, “so we just want to make things easy for people.” Adds Lalicon, “We just want you to sit back, relax and let us feed you.”
Kadence will offer lunch and dinner service, and will also feature a sake and craft Japanese bar with what’s promised to be the finest selection in the city.
In the meantime, the trio are hoping to continue their series of pop-up dinners in September to help fund the new restaurant, and we really hope they do.
Stay tuned for additional developments.
