Amura Downtown 54 W. Church St. |407-316-8500 Situated on hopping Church Street, Amura is well aware that many customers have to come and go quickly during their lunch break. Their choices of sushi and sashimi are extensive and it might take you a while to choose, but we recommend the Nova salmon roll with kiwi sauce that makes each bite so sweet. Bento’s Cafe 151 South Orange Avenue |407-999-8989 Entering any Bento’s, you’ll find a menu stocked with rice and noodle bowls along with a multitude of bento boxes. Some people won’t notice it, but there’s another full menu with sushi options. Classics are there, but unique spins like the Lust roll will make you believe in love at first bite. Bonsai Sushi 5174 Dr. Phillips Blvd. | 407-292-0333 Small and quaint, this hidden gem offers a packed menu with a lot more filling than other sushi spots. Try the Dr. Phillips Roll with shrimp tempura, avocado and mango topped with mango puree and eel sauce. Large crowds are normal, so definitely make reservations beforehand. BayRidge Sushi 1000 W. State Road 434, Longwood | 407-331-0000 From the shores of Brooklyn comes this spot, which crowds up fairly quickly. Their menu isn’t numbingly long, making their focus on clean and simple rolls evident. You can always stick to the signature California or rainbow rolls if you’re not feeling too adventurous. Danketsu 11425 Lake Underhill Rd | 407-988-3093 Driving through Lake Underhill, you could easily miss this bomb Korean BBQ place. Although the meats are the main show, they also serve up a great amount of sushi and nigiri options. Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi 7972 Via Dellagio Way | 407-370-3359 Even with the glossy wraparound sushi bar and the floor made out of corks, the food still reigns as the reason to go. Fujiyama Sushi 10153 University Blvd. | 407-677-6888 Hidden inside a shopping center near East Orlando suburbia, this sushi spot will leave your mouth oozing eel sauce as it drips down your lips creases. Their happy hour has a large range of rolls from the always safe chicken tempura to the crisped-to-perfection jaguar roll. Izziban Sushi & BBQ 5310 E. Colonial Drive | 407-270-8811 Personal food challenges are some people’s idea of weekend fun and totally acceptable at Izziban. Kabooki Sushi 3122 E. Colonial Drive | 407-228-3839 Located in a small strip mall, you wouldn’t expect luxuriously-named rolls to come out of this spot. But the Louis Vuitton roll, filled with king crab and asparagus, topped with Italian black truffle salt and crème fraiche, and crowned with tempura and blow-torched wagyu beef is worth a try. Morimoto Asia 1600 Buena Vista Drive | 407-939-6686 Disney springs glitzy new restaurant is worth visiting both for aesthetic reasons and the love of ocean’s finest delicacies. With a sushi bar serving up taro, hamachi, fluke and Japanese red snapper, you can definitely try things here you wouldn’t anywhere else in Orlando. Oishi Japanese Restaurant 11025 International Drive | 407-465-0088 Sometimes you end up in the touristy part of town with a grumbling stomach aching raw sushi. Oishi is your best bet for quick service and rolls full of ingredients you wouldn’t think to combine such as kiwi inside their Hawaiian roll. They have you covered with classics less than $10. Oudom Thai and Sushi 100 S. Eola Drive | 407-849-3739 Although this restaurant excels in their Thai, they still get props for serving different takes on rolls. Their crouching tiger roll is made for steak lovers in the mood for asian with medium sirloin, asparagus and cream cheese. Seito Sushi 4898 New Broad St. | 407-898-8801 The sleek interior design and affordable specials throughout the day (filling bowls of ramen, an abundance of sushi) all range from $10 to $16. Hanamizuki Japanese Restaurant 8255 International Drive | 407-363-7200 The elegantly minimalist décor affords diners the chance to focus on the expansive menu. Shakai Sushi Lounge 43 E. Pine St., Orlando | 407-423-2688 Start your night off right by stopping at Shakai Sushi Lounge. Sushi Kichi 5368 Central Florida Pkwy | 407-778-1953 It may lack curb appeal at first glance, but it’s in no way a reflection of the food. Inexpensive prices allow you to try a variety of rolls, so make sure to include the ginger pork roll ($8) or vampire hunter roll ($11), with shrimp? tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber, torched fresh tuna and spicy garlic olive oil on top. Sushi Lola’s 2902 Corrine Drive, Orlando | 407-898-5652 There’s a great selection of sushi rolls, from the uzumaki naruto, hyuga and surf-n-turf to the flaming magic roll that is toted precariously throughout the crowded dining room. SusHi Eat Station 4498 N. Alafaya Trail | 407-826-1682 DIY has never been more gratifying than at this UCF hotspot. You can make your own roll, bowl or wrap with prices ranging from $6 to $10. If you’re feeling really adventurous, order a sushi wrap then tell them to tempura the whole thing, but be well aware that the workers will scream “FIRE!” as they blaze your entrée with a scorching torch. Sushi Pop 310 W. Mitchell Hammock Rd, Oviedo | 407-542-5975 Located in a low key shopping strip next to farm fields, Sushi Pop may not look like much from the outside. With hot and cold tasting food items, you can get an array of flavors that perfectly blend into one another. Sushitomi 8463 S. John Young Pkwy | 407-352-8635 Cries of ‘Oishi!â! (delicious!) can be heard from patrons at this sushi joint thanks to a healthy sampling of sushi and authentic Japanese fare. Try the sunshine roll ($9.50) for a mouthful of awesome, or samurai roll ($9.75) with a soft shell of avocado molded atop spicy tuna for those who like a little fire with their flair. . The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar 6000 Universal Blvd. | 407-224-2275 Ever wanted to try sushi in a burger or… a burger in a sushi roll? Cowfish over at CityWalk has you covered. Their burgushi selections have bento boxes, burgers stuffed with seared rare fish and rolls like the All-American Bacon Double Cheeseburgooshi which is stuffed with normal burger add-ons and then flash fried to crispy perfection. Umi 525 S. Park Ave., Winter Park | 407-960-3993 After a revolving door of sushi joints tried to fill the void in this Park Ave. location, Umi, its latest occupant, has come out victorious. U-Roll Sushi 7685 E. Colonial Drive | 407-730-9699 Even though the name implies customers get to roll their own sushi, they actually only get to pick what goes inside their rolls, which is almost as cool! Choosing up to three proteins and different fillings, the price is oh-so cheap that you’ll probably end up getting two. Yabi Sushi 3755 S. Orlando Drive, Sanford| 407-324-3985 There is no way you can visit this sushi spot and not find something that you like. There are over 200 options available to choose from guaranteeing a satisfying quench to your much-needed sushi fix. Prices are pretty economical, staying below the $11 mark. Mills Ave. | 407-228-1730 Enjoy happy hour every day at this cozy modern sushi location on Mills 50 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sushi prices top $5 for you signature favorites, and specialty rolls like Giada Italian Bubba Roll, named after one of your favorite Food Network stars, rarely exceed $13.
