Chefs Brandon McGlamery and John Rivers team up for easy-elegant demo and tasting

Brandon McGlamery, executive chef of upscale eateries Luma on Park, Prato and Luke’s Kitchen and Bar, doesn’t have much in common as far as cooking style with 4 Rivers Smokehouse BBQ chef-mogul John Rivers – other than that they both know delicious food really, really well.

That seems to be enough to get the pair to team up tomorrow night – Wednesday, Aug. 23 – for a cooking demonstration and tasting of authentic Southern dishes at Rivers’ fried chicken palace, The Coop, on Morse Avenue in Winter Park, from 6-8 p.m.

They’ll be making (and you’ll be tasting) oxtail stew, mashed potatoes and butter bean toast, among other dishes.

Luma on Park, Luke’s and Prato are all gearing up for Magical Dining Month menus, too, and they look divine. We’ve got our eye on the cauliflower soup with curry oil and yogurt appetizer at Luma and Prato‘s oak-roasted duck confit with figs and farro.
