Iconic transgender model, singer, Dragula judge and nightlife doyenne Amanda Lepore is set to materialize in Orlando this weekend in a cloud of diamond dust and exotic perfumes. She’ll be at Southern Nights Friday for a meet-and-greet (my god) and performance where she’ll do whatever the hell she wants — sing, dance, stare imperiously at the assembled faithful — and we will duly love it.
Lepore has been in Orlando for the last few months in the form of a portrait that is part of OMA’s David LaChapelle exhibition As the World Turns, casting her in bold Warholian colors as a future-forward Marilyn. Now you can see this glamorous muse in the flesh. If she sings “My Hair Looks Fierce,” we’re done for.
10 p.m., Friday, May 15, Southern Nights, 375 S. Bumby Ave., instagram.com/southernnightsorlando, free-$30.
