If you want to see a real live rhinoceros but you’re lacking the funds to make a trip to Africa, India or Southeast Asia in the near future, there’s a chance you may never get to see a rhino in the wild – it is estimated that in 10 to 20 years, some of the five rhino species in the world will become extinct. So, in honor of World Rhino Day (Sept. 22), the Orlando-based Horns and Heroes project is trying to help preserve endangered rhino populations through art. The 40 local artists participating in this show were asked to recreate a rhino horn as an art object to put on display for one night only at Sip. The sculpted horns will be up for bidding in silent and live auctions throughout the evening, and all proceeds will be donated to the International Rhino Foundation. – Salo Steinvortz
