PlayFest! Harriett’s New Play Series
THEATER If you’re craving that feeling of rushed anticipation that you can only get from running to back-to-back theater productions, then don’t wait for Fringe, come to PlayFest. (Spoiler: No deep-fried peanut butter-and-butter sandwiches are sold at this event.) Part of a larger national program committed to creating, nurturing and workshopping new plays, P-Fest – that’s what we’re calling it now – gives attendees the chance to be a part of developing exciting new pieces that often go on to be produced in other cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The keynote speaker at this year’s event is Mark St. Germain, who penned Forgiving Typhoid Mary, named one of Time magazine’s “Year’s Ten Best.” – BO
