Celebrate with all of the monsters you know and love on H.U.M.A.N. Day, a celebration inviting humans to the monster world.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando has unveiled the story behind its upcoming “Monstropolis,” the first theme park land to be inspired by Monsters, Inc.

The new section of the park will be built around H.U.M.A.N. Day, short for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice,” a Monstropolis-wide celebration bringing humans into the monsters’ world for the first time.

The story is set after the events of the original film and built upon Sully and Mike’s discovery: Human laughter is more powerful than screams, transforming the city’s energy source and reshaping the way monsters view the human world.

In this new phase of monster life, the city has established the Department of Human Relations, a team dedicated to helping monsters and humans better understand one another in preparation for this first encounter.

H.U.M.A.N. Day will set the scene for guests, inviting humans to explore and experience Monstropolis firsthand.

There will be a fully realized cityscape with streets and recognizable locations from the film, like Harryhausen’s restaurant and the Glob Theater.

More details about Monstropolis are on the way, Disney says.
