Sororicide wastes no time throwing its audience into chaos. What begins as a fundraiser event for Delta Nu quickly spirals once the sorority president gets murdered in-house. From there, the killer comedy leans heavily into full camp mode, blending Mean Girls-style satire into a classic whodunnit plot.

As the production progresses, the characters all fit into traditional Greek life stereotypes. You have the uptight vice president, MacKenzeigh (Grace Brantley); the stressed treasurer, Hanna (Christina Breza); the most hated member, Madeline (Ashley Van Kirk); the sacrilegious philanthropy chair, Rachelle (Hailee Barret); and you can’t forget their sleazy fratboy himbo boyfriends, Jaysin and Brett (Jan Martinez, John Malley). Along with other talented cast members that fit into these roles (Courtney St. John, Kelsey Grace Kidd, Emmy Frederickson, Joey Phelps), the writers/directors (Rheanne Walton and Savana Petranoff) used these character traits to fuel the investigation by capturing exaggerated moments of sorority culture.

The commitment to the caricature didn’t end there, as the actors created their own original social media stunts projected throughout the show. The actors then pulled intense audience interactions, thrusting them into the investigation and sometimes even accusing them of the murder. I was honestly scared I was going to get accused and would have to provide an alibi.

Sororicide overall feels tailored to fit a younger and collegiate crowd with its raunchy humor, relatable college experiences, and chaotic energy. For others it may feel like an inside joke you’re only half in on, but if you’re willing to play along there’s a lot of fun folded into the madness.
