Gala of Ghouls’ glittering and ferocious drag-meets-runway event ‘Birth of Nova’ took over the Veranda at Thornton Park

Gala of Ghouls teamed with local fashion designer Noah Sams to stage the hybrid runway/drag event “Birth of Nova.” On a sticky Saturday afternoon, throngs gathered at the outdoors Veranda on Thornton Park — respect to everyone who braved that heat! — to watch performers model Sams’ futuristic and glamorous couture, and to see two drag shows. Performers and red-carpet conquerers included E, Egot, Kissa Death, Amnesia Effect, Davi Oddity, Sue Cyde, Your Scary Godmother, Pherocia … and Sams!

The sun setting brought some cooling relief in time for the second drag show, which featured Sams’ own emotional debut as a performer. Huge night for Orlando queer artistry and enthusiasts thereof.
