The Tavistock Group announced today plans to open the eight-story Lake Nona Resort with health and nutrition amenities, as well as one of the nation’s largest man-made lagoons at 15 acres, according to the Orlando Business Journal.
Miami-based architecture firm Arquitectonica will begin construction on the project, which is located near USTA National Campus, with a projected opening date sometime in 2020.
The resort is expected to attract about 100,00 visitors a year to its 80 condos, 120-square-foot beach volleyball venue, on-site nutritionist, 24-hour fitness facility, quick-turnaround laundry services, juice bars, and health and well-being classes.
The 250 rooms on the property will feature an oversize design, with 450 square feet of space to allow for adequate stretching and fitness equipment areas, Fox 35 reports.
The rooms will also be constructed to support workout-related recovery, as they include large, specially designed mattresses, blackout shades and circadian-cycle lights.
With the location being near Orlando International Airport, the resort complex will also include amenities ideal for people traveling for work.
These include a rooftop lounge with 20,000 square feet in meeting spaces and an expansive ballroom designed to accommodate large groups.
As we previously reported, earlier this week Tavistock also announced it would open a giant floating water park in Lake Nona next summer.
