Mariachi El Bronx are the best thing to happen to either punk rock or mariachi music in ages. False dilemma, sucker. They’re both. This mariachi alter ego of punk heroes The Bronx merges the regional Mexican music that surrounded their L.A. upbringing with the punk rock that’s in their guts.

The result is a quintessentially American marriage that storms and swoons all at once. The powerhouse octet are returning with their first album in over a decade (IV). Openers are Max Diaz and Bedouin Soundclash.

7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, The Beacham, 46 N. Orange Ave., thebeacham.com, $30.
