Boston’s Retained Surgical Instrument get gross and loud at Conduit

Although their name isn’t as spectacular as, say, Anal Stabwound (who play Conduit two nights later), Boston extreme metal band Retained Surgical Instrument pack the shock to thrill the diehards, gag the normies and make the open-minded chuckle. Sometimes, the line between obscene and brilliant is a fine, hilarious one. 

Ann Yao and Rui Yang help usher in International Guitar Festival in Orlando

Specialists in traditional Chinese instruments, Yao plays the guzheng (plucked zither) and Yang the erhu (two-stringed violin). Together, through original and modern compositions, they’ll give proper spotlight to the classic Eastern dance between these two timelessly elegant instruments. Afterward, the festival will showcase guitar music from Israel, Colombia, Italy and America throughout August.

Mon Laferte brings ‘Femme Fatale’ tour to Orlando this week

Mon Laferte is breaking stereotypes and records. The Chilean-Mexican singer and songwriter is bringing her Femme Fatale tour to Orlando, highlighting recent albums that share the name of the tour. Laferte released the first album of the Femme Fatale series in 2025, with Femme Fatale Vol. 2 dropping in June.
