DJ Kurt Rambus & Mr. Mogembo spin sonic Voodoo in Orlando

Orlando is famously a city of DJs. But this weekend’s “Voodoo” — featuring DJs Kurt Rambus and Mr. Mogembo — is not your basic “party jamz” deal. This limited series is a voyage of concept, which is both laudable and expected of these two figures. Nigel John (the brain behind Kurt Rambus) and Mr. Mogembo are among the city’s most visionary and progressive DJs, and this joint will be a plunge into the deep, international shadows of electronic music.

Expect the hexing tentacles of African, Arabic, Indian and Latin sounds to be between the beats. It’ll be a tryst between the exotic and the familiar that’ll make for a night of intoxicating originality.
