Just look at all your student debt, Orlando

If you had to skip today’s lunch to afford your student loan payment, this map from the people at Mapping Student Debt shows you’re not alone in Orlando. 

The interactive map, which compiles median income, average debt balance and delinquency rates for each zip code in the country, shows wealthier areas have high average student loan balances, but have a low rate of missing payments. Poor neighborhoods don’t have as much debt, but have a higher rate of delinquency. 

Such is the case in Orlando. The zip code 32814, which corresponds to the Baldwin Park area, has an astronomical amount of debt, but the delinquency rate is extremely low and the median income is $96,766. Compare this to 32809, the area near The Florida Mall that includes Sky Lake, Belle Isle and Pine Castle. Student debt is average, but the delinquency rate is very high and the median income is $31,966.
