Few things inspire loyalty like a favorite grocery store. Throw in the already cultish adherence to the chicken and subs-sling grocery chain and any cross words about a favored Publix Supermarket are bound to start a fight.
With that in mind, we asked folks in the r/Orlando subreddit what their favorite (and least favorite) Publixes are in the Orlando area. Springing from that, we put together the definitive, unquestionable list of the best and worst places to get a Pub Sub in Orlando.

1. Orange & Michigan
2873 S. Orange Ave.
This SoDo Publix was far and away the winner. Fans cited the amenities like hot Chinese food. The Marketplace at Dr. Phillips
2. 7524 Dr. Phillips Blvd.
This Publix earned praise for its cooking classes.3. The other SoDo Publix
3171 S. Orange Avenue
This Publix across the street from our top-winner won plaudits for being not-too-busy. Probably has something to do with the established Publix that’s almost literally across the street.4. Winter Park Village
440 N. Orlando Ave., Winter Park
Everyone had a different reason to like this Publix, from cleanliness to food options to easy-to-access restrooms. Together, that pushed it high on this list.5. College Park
2015 Edgewater Drive
This Publix lost points for not being the greatest source of all your groceries. However, everyone is still enamored with its retro styling.6. Hollieanna
741 S. Orlando Ave., Winter Park
Winter Park shoppers talked about this one in hushed tones, worried that the Winter Park Village-lovers would find out about their secretly great Publix.7. University Palms/UCF
4250 Alafaya Trail, Oviedo
It all comes down to your tolerance for college kids at the UCF Publix. If you can push past it, this older stop has some incredible hot food.8. Vista Lakes
6485 S. Chickasaw Trail
We’re getting into the part of the list where people are relatively good-spirited, but not particularly enthusiastic. Lee Vista is the first of these aggressively mid-tier Publixes.9. Aloma Walk
2871 Clayton Crossing, Oviedo
Just fine.10. Alafaya Square
81 Alafaya Woods Blvd, Oviedo
We have already forgotten about this Publix.11. Narcoossee/Lake Nona
139000 Narcoosee Rd.
Yawn.12. Baldwin Park
1501 Meeting Place
This Publix was only ever spoken of as a replacement. Nobody wants to claim it as their Publix.13. Lake Frederica
4042 S. Semoran Blvd.
People like this Publix, when they remember it exists.14. Tuscawilla Bend
2100 Winter Springs Blvd, Oviedo
Bonus points for the brown brick exterior and strange, white lettering at this Publix that’s nobody’s favorite.15. Conway Plaza
4402 Curry Ford Road16. Town Park
12231 E Colonial Drive
Aggressively ok.17. Riverside Landings
1801 E. Broadway St. Oviedo
This odd, old Publix is memorable from the outside, but not much else.18. Southchase
12195 S Orange Blossom Trl
This Publix rarely got mentioned in our polling, but it also never got dinged.19. Hamlin Cove
5400 Hamlin Groves Tr, Winter Garden
This Publix earns points for its solitude, with devotees afraid of shouting too loud about it.20. Kelly Park Crossing
3080 W Kelly Park Rd, Apopka
This Publix earned raves, but it’s simply too new to be trusted.21. The Grove
4870 S Apopka Vineland Road
This Publix is mostly fine. But who wants to be around rich people for that long?22. Lakeside Village Center
7880 Winter Garden Vineland Rd, Windermere
There’s just better options than Lakeside Village around.23. West Point Commons
13750 W Colonial Dr, Winter Garden
This Publix was once good, but it disappointed customers in a long fall from grace.24. The other Dr. Phillips Publix
7640 W Sand Lake Rd
What makes this Publix so disappointing is the fact that it’s within eyesight of one of the best locations in Orlando.25. Parkway Plaza
5265 S John Young Pkwy
This Publix demonstrates why no news is good news. Many of the stores ahead of it coasted by on anonymity. The only things we heard about this location were bad.26. Kirkman Oaks
4606 S Kirkman Rd, Orlando
The consensus around this Publix is that it’s old as hell and desperately in need of some TLC.27. Metro West Village
2435 S Hiawassee Rd
This Publix rarely got mentioned, but when it did, the people talking were furious.28. Lake Eola
400 E Central Blvd
One of only two true competitors for worst Publix in Orlando. It skirts by the winner of that dubious distinction because the haters of the other Publix had sheer numbers on their side. Everyone who mentioned this Publix called it a miserable experience from the petitioners out front to the confusing interior.29. Colonialtown
1500 E Colonial Drive
Maybe the only Publix that sparked pure hatred in the entire discussion. Some used it as the baseline example of a bad Publix, others commiserated in their terrible experiences. Unquestionably, Colonialtown’s Publix is the most-hated grocery store in Orlando.Honorable (Un)Mention(ed):
Nobody cared enough about these Publixes to even argue for or against them:

–Landstar
–Rio Pinar
— Avalon
— Eastwood
