Join the Lakeland community at Bonnet Springs Park for their third annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration, Bienvenido a BSP, where they’ll bring the vibrant flavors, colors, and rhythms of Hispanic and Latino cultures to life! New this year, this two-day event will take place on Friday, September 26th, from 7 – 9PM, and Saturday, September 27th, from 2 – 9PM. From live bands and cultural showcases, to an artisan market and live DJ, featuring special offers from The Depot and Rooftop Bar, food trucks, and so much more, this free event isn’t something you’ll want to miss!
Opening night from 7 – 9PM, enjoy a free, family-friendly evening of dance, authentic cuisine from food truck faves, and community! It will be led by NY Joe’s Latin Sensation, a highly acclaimed recording artist based in Tampa, FL, specializing in salsa music, with a dynamic vocal range and infectious stage presence. This evening is family‑friendly and open to all ages.
Celebrate all day with Bonnet Springs Park on day two from 2 – 9PM with a packed on-stage schedule, starting with live performances from popular artists like DJ Lanz & Dimelotony, 123 Andres, and Mariachas Las Aztecas. Guests can immerse themselves in the vibrant culture expressed by artists like Kalindá Bomba, the Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba fused mix of rhythm, dance, and ancestral tradition, Venezuela Marka, a classic mariachi performer, or Izis La Enfermera de la Sala, a captivating and charismatic performance of salsa classics and originals! To end the night, the traditional folk and acoustic band, Cortadio, will take the stage as Bienvenido a BSP’s headliner, joined by special guest Aymee Nuviola, the Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning singer!
At Bienvenido, guests can indulge in varying cuisines from a plethora of food trucks. Satisfy every craving and expand your palate with menus ranging from sweet treats like baked goods from Bang Bang Bakehouse, Florida Fruit Cups, and The Tea Lizard. Or, savor Hispanic culture in every bite with authentically prepared meals from Me Gusta NY LLC, Tito’s Latin Cuisine, or Taco Riendo.
In between the music, dancing, and dinner, guests can shop at the artisan market. With vendors like Casa de Attar, Lizbeth Diaz Ceramics, Raices Plant Truck, and Ann Keepsake Jewelry, there’s something for everyone!
Curated for the entire family, Bienvenido a BSP is sure to have an activity or event for everyone to enjoy! Join in on activities like loteria games, put on by Florida Southern College’s Hispanic/Latinx Student Coalition, or crafting individual trompos, a popular toy in Latin American countries, made with Florida Children’s Museum. Other activities include traditional tin work and education on local ecosystems.
