For Mitch Chubb, Central Florida has never simply been a place to build a career. It has been home. Long before he founded Chubb Law Accident & Injury Attorneys, Chubb was growing up in Lake Mary, surrounded by family, church, sports and a community where showing up for other people was simply part of everyday life. Today, those early lessons have become part of the philosophy behind his law practice — and an ongoing commitment to the Central Florida community he has called home for generations.
“I always say I’m boring because I never really left,” Chubb jokes. But there is something meaningful about that decision. Chubb has built his personal life, his family and his legal career in the same region that helped shape him. After graduating from UCF in 2008, he remained in Orlando for law school at Barry University and eventually established his personal injury practice in Lake Mary. His connection to the area goes even deeper.
A Central Florida Family
Chubb describes himself as part of a Central Florida family, and the roots run deep. His father, Kevin Chubb, grew up in Winter Park and attended what was then Florida Technological University, now the University of Central Florida. His mother was part of the second graduating class at Lake Brantley High School.
Growing up, Chubb watched his father serve the community not only as a pastor, but also as a youth baseball coach. His father spent countless hours mentoring young people and helping families, reinforcing an idea that would eventually become central to Chubb’s own life: serving others is not something reserved for special occasions. It is a responsibility that happens every day.
From Watching His Uncle to Building His Own Practice
Chubb’s path to personal injury law began well before he opened his own firm. As a young man, he spent time sitting in courtrooms watching his uncle represent people whose lives had been dramatically changed by injuries. One particular case stayed with him: a young person who suffered serious injuries after walking through a sliding glass door that was not up to code.
What Chubb remembers most wasn’t a courtroom argument. It was something his uncle said afterward: “These people are counting on me to help them.”
Personal injury law became less about the image of lawyers arguing in court and more about the responsibility that comes with helping someone whose life has suddenly been turned upside down. Today, that same philosophy informs Chubb Law’s approach to its clients. At Chubb Law, service extends beyond the attorney-client relationship. The firm’s philosophy is captured in a simple phrase: “We Exist to Serve.” That means serving clients, supporting the firm’s team and investing in the broader community.
One of the most visible examples happens every month. For several years, Chubb Law has given at least $1,000 each month to a deserving local nonprofit organization. Local residents can nominate organizations they believe are making a difference, and the firm selects a nonprofit to receive the monthly contribution.
Over the years, those donations have supported organizations working in areas ranging from children and families to education, health, homelessness, veterans and first responders, animal welfare and the arts. Past recipients include organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Wekiva River, Running 4 Heroes, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Rescue Outreach Mission and The Ritz Theater, among many others.
And the giving doesn’t stop with a monthly check.
Showing Up, Not Just Writing Checks
Several times a year, Chubb Law closes its office for what the firm calls a “Serve Day.” Instead of spending the day behind desks, members of the team head into the community to work alongside local organizations. Past efforts have included helping with Habitat for Humanity projects, participating in environmental restoration along the Little Wekiva River and supporting organizations that help families transitioning out of homelessness.
It’s a distinction that matters to Chubb. Writing a check can provide valuable support, but showing up allows the firm’s employees to become part of the work themselves. That approach reflects the example Chubb saw growing up. His father didn’t simply talk about serving people. He spent his time doing it — through his church, through youth baseball and through the relationships he built throughout Central Florida. For Chubb, community involvement has become a way of carrying that example forward.
Giving Back to the Place That Gave Him So Much
Central Florida has changed considerably since Chubb was growing up here. Neighborhoods have expanded, communities have grown and the Orlando region has become one of the country’s most dynamic metropolitan areas. But some things haven’t changed. For Chubb, home is still home.
It’s where his family established roots. It’s where he went to college. It’s where he built his career, raised his family and chose to invest his time. And it is why community involvement isn’t treated as a separate initiative at Chubb Law. It is part of the firm’s identity.
“We serve our clients, we serve each other, and we also serve the community,” Chubb says.
That philosophy can be seen in the firm’s monthly nonprofit giveaway, its volunteer days and the many local organizations that have benefited from its support. It can also be seen in something much simpler: a decision made years ago by a young Central Florida native who could have built a life somewhere else, but chose to stay close to home.

And after all these years, he’s still here — building a life, building a law practice and doing his part to leave his community a little stronger than he found it.
