A survivor of last week’s school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has an interesting idea regarding Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
Junior Sarah Chadwick took to Twitter Friday morning, suggesting, “We should change the names of AR-15s to ‘Marco Rubio’ because they are so easy to buy.”
Wednesday night, the Senator participated in his first town hall in over a year and got an earful from parents and students from Stoneman Douglas High School.
One of the better exchanges that evening came when junior Cameron Kansky asked Rubio if he’d stop taking donations from the NRA. “So, in the name of 17 people, you cannot ask the NRA to keep their money out of your campaign?” asked Kansky. To which Rubio replied, “No. No, because […] I will always accept the help of anyone who agrees with my agenda.”
Woof.
