A Winter Park home that was once home to Rollins College’s oldest fraternity has hit the market.
Located at 1336 College Point, the house was built in 1926 with four bedrooms, five bathrooms and a total 3,181 square feet all dropped directly on the shore of Lake Virginia.
Less than a decade after it was built, the home was designated as the official house of Rollins College’s X-Club in 1934, one of the very first fraternities or sororities formed at the school. The X-Club was founded in 1929 and is still active today. One of its charter members, Hugh McKean, would later become president of the college.
The home comprises a three-bedroom main house plus a detached one-bedroom guest cottage. Inside the main house is a formal dining room, a living room fireplace, private “wine library,” original woodwork by acclaimed Sarasota architect Gene Leedy and contemporary installations by artist Matt Olson, per the listing.
Outside, a covered deck overlooks a saltwater pool and spa, outdoor kitchen and boathouse.
The home is listed for $4,500,000 and Mick Night with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty is handling the sale.
