More than 30 years after Tim Burton shot his goth classic “Edward Scissorhands” in Tampa Bay, the fictional Bogg Family house in Lutz is on the market.
The home at 1774 Tinsmith Cir. served as the backdrop for Tim Burton’s meditation on suburban weirdness, and the Licalzi family who currently own the home have turned the home into a mini museum.
Joey Licalzi bought the house after losing out elsewhere in the neighborhood. He told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that press from when the house went on sale limited his options after he bought it.
“When you battle the whole planet for the house, you can’t Airbnb it like everybody thinks you can, so we turned it into a free museum,” he said. “Now everybody has access to come on the property.”
Licalzi estimated that he gets about 30 families a week coming to visit his museum, which he and his wife lived in. The home/museum currently features original props from the film like Kim Bogg’s purse, original wallpaper, and the scissors Edward used to trim the dinosaur hedge.
The home comes with the memorabilia intact and the seller is asking for $699,000.
