Longtime Orlando attraction Gatorland was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after the park received a bomb threat.

Police arrived to investigate and all park guests and Gatorland staff were evacuated.

Gatorland staff posted a message to social media late Tuesday afternoon, explaining the situation:

“Gatorland® Orlando received a bomb threat this afternoon. We immediately evacuated the park, including remaining guests and staff. Park leaders worked with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to secure the premises. Based on their full inspection of the park, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office believes the threat was not credible.”

After Orange County Sheriff’s deputies searched the park and declared it all clear, the evacuated guests were even allowed back in the park until closing time, according to reporting from WKMG. Detectives with OCSO are reportedly investigating the incident, though they suspect it is a hoax.

Gatorland will be open at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning for their usual extended summer hours.
