Orange County 2024 Election Results: Karen Castor Dentel elected Orange County supervisor of elections

Candidates included Karen Castor Dentel (D), Sunshine Linda-Marie Grund (D), Dan Helm (D) and Wes Hodge (D).

Karen Castor Dentel won the race with 40% of the vote with 100% of precincts reporting.

Prior to Election day, the county saw its longtime Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles retire from the post in January. DeSantis-appointed Glen Gilzean replaced him, but decided not to run for the job this election cycle.

The Orange County supervisor of elections oversees the office that registers people to vote, qualifies candidates for local races, sends out vote-by-mail ballots, manages polling locations and works to ensure election results are accurate and transparent.
