Map shows 27 mass shootings in Florida during 2015

According to a map assembled by PBS Newshour using data collected by a website called shootingtracker.com, more than 113 people were wounded or killed during 27 mass shootings that took place in Florida during 2015. Of those shootings, the map indicates, three took place in the Orlando area.  

Mass shootings – like the ones that took place yesterday in San Bernardino, California, and Savannah, Georgia, yesterday – are defined as shootings in which four or more people are killed or injured. The Washington Post reports that there were 355 mass shootings around the country in 2015 – there were 336 in 2014 and 365 in 2013, according to the people who keep the Mass Shooting Tracker website up to date.
