Our noodly master

Please let me thank you for your article on intelligent design ["Battle Royale!" Sept. 1]. I have read many discussions on this argument and I am happy to see this discussion is becoming more and more mainstream.

If teaching intelligent design becomes absolutely necessary and the schools must fill our children's brains with religious propaganda, then I will fully support the teachings and preachings of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I have been touched by his noodly appendage, and since I believe this to be the correct faith, your children should be forced to believe in it too.

Don't forget to ask yourself every time you are about to make a decision (since you are incapable to make the decision on your own): WWFSMD?

Thank you for the article "Not in my city" [Aug. 25]. It's nice to see some factual reporting in the face of so much hysteria. You are performing a real public service.

How can you publish something that gives the impression that bans and laws shouldn't be put in front of sex offenders moving into certain neighborhoods? ["Not in my city," Aug. 25]. Many people have many various tendencies to do "wrong" things in society, but if acted on, only fairly should they give up all rights that they knew they would lose. If you are sick, get help before your actions take over. If you can't live and act according to societal laws, you have to forfeit your freedom.

Our already morally degrading society really doesn't need another publication sounding as though they are "fighting" for the poor, sick adults inflicting pain on a child or ending their lives and leaving a trail of wounded anguish on all the surrounding loved ones affected.

This may not have been the intention, but the buildup of the first few paragraphs made it appear that there is just nowhere left for these sad, mistreated, lonely little child rapists to feel loved and accepted by a community of people.

Not a fan

When I said, "How about a regular transit report," what I did not have in mind was "Diary of a LYNX rider" [Happytown™, Sept. 1].

I am not a regular rider of LYNX myself, but I have used the system and I have no problems in saying that, considering the size and history of the greater Orlando region, you are lucky to have LYNX. No, it's not perfect and there's plenty of room for improvement.

What I had hoped for from Orlando Weekly, however, was a discussion on new ways of thinking about public transit. For example: Would it be more cost-effective to replace some portions of the LYNX system with an on-demand van/taxi service?

But all that column space and time and energy devoted to a discussion of stinky shoes? No! Oh no! Could I be any more clear?

Well, I think that the Orlando Weekly needs to get rid of [music editor Jason Ferguson]! I personally think you suck! Band Marino ["Notable noise," Aug. 25] is one of the best bands out there. And I think you should take and shove the pen you wrote with up your butt!

You don't need to be giving Band Marino a bad name! So to you I say, "Screw you!"
