This morning, April 21, at around 10 a.m., KPD tweeted that a suspicious package was located at a undisclosed building on Broadway in Kissimmee.
Orange County Bomb Squad has been called.
It’s unclear at the moment if the package is indeed an explosive device. However, a suspect is currently in custody and has told detectives that the package was indeed a bomb.
Intermodal station has been closed, and all LYNX buses have been rerouted.
KPD has confirmed that the package, which was a suitcase, has been detonated by the Orange County Bomb Squad.
KPD says the package was not an explosive device and now the suspect, 20-year-old Jacob Ortiz, has been charged with false reporting of a bomb and is in route to jail.
This is a breaking story. We’ll update this post when more information becomes available.
