An Orlando man set up a livestream on Facebook before attacking two police officers over the weekend.
Video shared by the Orlando Police Department shows 27-year-old William McClish setting his phone on the ground before walking up behind a group of police officers on Saturday evening. He hits one of them with a brick before being wrestled to the ground by the others. Per the arrest affadavit, McClish attempted to gouge an officer’s eye out and bit him before being restrained.
OPD Police Chief Orlando Rolón said it took four officers to arrest the man in a statement about the incident.
“One officer has a significant facial injury. The other was bit and nearly had his eye gouged out. Our officers will recover from their injuries, but individuals like this who take premeditated steps to harm law enforcement officers and other human beings must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” Rolón said.
McClish is being held in Orange County jail without bond. He faces charges of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery and resisting arrest, among others.
