Creedence Clearwater Revival bassist Stu Cook is selling his sprawling Florida waterfront mansion, but you’ll probably have to be a “Fortunate Son” to afford it.

Located at 3638 San Remo Terrace in Sarasota, the home was originally built in 2002 by renowned architect Carl Abbott, who is the last surviving original member of the Sarasota School of Architecture.

According to property records, Cook and his wife, Dana, bought the home in 2013 for $2.95 million. However, the home burned down before they had a chance to move in due to an accidental fire caused by a stovetop burner that was left on. The incident destroyed pretty much everything except the garage.

“We went to the house on New Year’s Day 2014 to receive closing papers and a case of Champagne from our buying agent,” said Cook to Mansion Global. “We headed back to our rental to watch the New Year’s Day football games. We got a call about an hour later that our house was on fire.”

The couple ended up working with Abbott to completely rebuild the home, an effort that took nearly 27 months, says the publication.

Today, the 4,559-square-foot home comes with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, as well as white oak floors, a marble fireplace, glass-front cabinetry, large interior sliding doors, a heated pool, a rooftop observation deck and more, says the listing.

The Cook House is currently asking $9,975,000, and the listing agent is Joel Schemmel of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.
