Colonial Drive in downtown Orlando will be closed for two nights this weekend

West Colonial Drive will be closed in both directions for two consecutive nights between Orange Ave and Garland Ave to install cables and trusses for the new pedestrian bridge.

Road closures will occur Feb. 1 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and Feb. 2 from 11:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The quarter-mile bridge is designed to help pedestrians cross SR 50 safely and connect them to the Orlando Urban Trail and Gertrude’s Walk,  SunRail and LYNX Central Station.

The bridge is expected to be completed early this spring.

The project’s progress and detour routes are posted on the city of Orlando’s website.
