The city of Orlando announced today that beginning on Monday, April 20, the heavily traveled (and pothole-riddled) stretch of Bumby Avenue between Colonial and Corrine drives will be closed for drainage improvements.

The closure is expected to last approximately two years while construction crews make improvements to the storm sewer system and roadway. Northbound traffic is to be detoured to Hampton Avenue, while southbound traffic will be diverted to Ferncreek Avenue (see map below).

Strap in, Audubon Park and Colonialtown; it’s gonna be a long, mildly strange trip.
