Often referred to as a “bubble house” or a “moon home,” geodesic dwellings are arguably perfect for Florida.

Though painstakingly annoying to decorate with normal right-angled furniture, the homes are incredibly energy efficient, they can withstand extreme temperatures and even earthquakes. But best of all, they’re designed to deflect hurricane-force winds.

They’re also pretty rare, and right now a well-preserved geodesic dome home in St. Augustine, Florida is currently on the market.

Located at 4417 Carolyn Lane in St. Augustine, this particular dome home was built in 1993, which is around the time when dome home kits were relatively popular in the U.S.

Today, there aren’t many left. But this 3,182-square-foot dome home sits on nearly 3-acres, and comes with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as an office, a two car garage, a private patio, and a whole house generator, says the listing.

The home is currently asking $775,000 and the listing agents are Selby Kaiser and Linda McMorrow of Legends of Real Estate.
