A new social media challenge is encouraging people to steal Confederate flags

A new trend is gaining traction via two hashtags #NoFlagginChallenge and ‪#‎DestroyConfederateFlag, both are calling for the theft of Confederate flags from cars, homes, or wherever the rebel flag is flying. 

At the moment, one of the most popular videos was uploaded by Facebook user Jamari Williams, who, according to his profile, is a resident of Sarasota, Florida.

In the video you can see a young man getting out of a car, running up to what appears to be someone else’s private property and stealing a Confederate flag. 

Apparently, the Sarasota police have been contacted multiple times about the above incident, prompting them to send out this public service announcement via their Facebook page.
